Choosing your treatment

How do the brow techniques differ?

Microblading creates individual hair-like strokes with a handheld tool. Nano Brows create hair strokes with a machine. Powder Brows use machine shading for a softly filled-in finish. Microblading and Nano Brows can also be combined with shading. Julie considers your natural brows, skin, and preferred finish when planning your treatment.

Are these treatments cosmetic tattoos?

Yes. Pigment is placed beneath the skin to enhance your brows. Although often called semi-permanent, results and fading vary. Color, retention, and symmetry cannot be guaranteed.

Who can book?

Services are available to adults of all genders, age 18 and over. Please bring government-issued identification; IDs are checked regardless of age.

What if I have previous brow work?

If another artist performed your Microblading, Nano Brows, shading, Powder Brows, or brow tattoo, text clear, close-up photos to 218-216-4305 before booking. Suitability is reviewed individually.

Your appointment

How long does an appointment take?

Allow about two hours for an initial treatment and about one hour for a touch-up. Your first visit includes paperwork, a consultation, brow mapping and digital measurements, color selection, and your approval before treatment. Before-and-after photographs are taken, and aftercare instructions and products are reviewed with you.

Should I remove my brow hair?

No. Please keep your existing brow hair. It is not shaved off for the procedure. Natural hair continues to grow afterward, so some grooming may still be needed.

Will I still use brow makeup?

That depends on your preferred look. Hair-stroke treatments enhance natural texture; shading or Powder Brows create a more filled-in finish. You may still choose makeup for additional definition.

Is it uncomfortable?

Comfort levels vary. Topical numbing is used during treatment, but some discomfort is possible. Discuss any concerns or sensitivities with Julie before your appointment.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Cash, debit cards, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and Apple Pay are accepted. Returning clients may also pay by personal check made payable to Duluth Microblading Studio. Gratuities are appreciated and entirely optional.

Healing & touch-ups

What should I expect while healing?

Brows may initially look darker and more defined, then soften as they heal. Flaking and changes in the appearance of color can occur. Do not pick at healing skin. Follow the personalized aftercare instructions reviewed at your appointment and use the provided aftercare products.

Plan trips and special events at least two weeks after treatment. Your skin, lifestyle, and aftercare influence healing and retention.

Is the 6–8 week touch-up included?

Yes! Every initial brow treatment package includes one complimentary 6–8 week touch-up, which must be completed within eight weeks of your initial procedure. This appointment is scheduled directly with Julie in the studio following your initial treatment and cannot be booked online.

Brow treatments are typically a two-appointment process, although some clients may need additional perfecting visits.

Please note: Complimentary 6–8 week touch-ups are included with initial brow treatment packages only. Returning client Color Boost appointments do not include a complimentary follow-up touch-up.

How long will my brows last?

Results vary. A touch-up may be needed anywhere from roughly six months to two years after treatment, with many clients returning around 12–18 months. Retention depends on factors including skin type and aftercare; a specific duration cannot be promised.

What do future touch-ups cost?

Returning-client pricing depends on the time since your last appointment and is capped at the current 18+ month rate. See all touch-up prices

Before you book

Are brow treatments right for everyone?

No. Please contact the studio before booking if you have skin irritation, acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, rosacea, fragile skin, raised areas, moles, piercings, sunburn, or previous scarring around the brows. Oily skin, deep lines, and skin texture can affect the choice of technique and pigment retention.

Discuss any medical conditions, bleeding disorders, anemia, autoimmune conditions, history of keloid scarring, chemotherapy, pregnancy or nursing, medications, and recent treatments with the studio and your treating clinician before scheduling.

What about medications?

Tell the studio about prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, and supplements. If you take blood thinners or other prescribed medicines, consult your prescribing clinician before booking. Do not stop or change prescribed medication to prepare for a brow appointment unless your prescribing clinician directs you to do so.

Contact the studio about antibiotics, isotretinoin (Accutane), prescription skin care, or recent changes to your health. Studio policy requires two weeks after the last antibiotic dose and a minimum of one year after Accutane; confirm your timing with the studio and clinician before booking.

Preparing for your visit

Keep your natural brow hair and review your individualized preparation instructions with Julie. Ask the studio about medicines and supplements before making changes.

  • Plan optional brow shaping, waxing, threading, or tinting at least 72 hours before your appointment.

  • Allow at least one week between your appointment and laser or electrolysis near the brows, and discuss exfoliating skin-care products with the studio.

  • Avoid sunburn and tanning exposure during the week before and after your appointment. Sunburn or peeling skin requires rescheduling; studio policy requires a new deposit.

  • Allow at least two weeks after Botox or fillers in the brow area. Discuss retinol or prescription Vitamin A skin care with your clinician and the studio.

  • Allow at least three weeks after brow growth serums, chemical peels, dermabrasion, mesotherapy, or other intensive skin treatments.

  • Do not work out on the day of your appointment. Follow the studio’s guidance on alcohol, caffeine, cannabis, and activity during healing.

  • Plan around the first two weeks of healing, including the studio’s restrictions on sweating.

If you are unsure about preparation or suitability, text 218-216-4305 before scheduling.
